Resident Artist - Todd McCoy
Todd McCoy
Artist/Draughtsman/Calligrapher/Model maker
As an artist my work is constantly evolving. However I find there are certain subject matters that reoccur and are never far from mind. In the past I have looked into Contemporary Social Issues including Homelessness and Problem Gambling, and created works that arise from my research to not only question the 'systems' we have in place, but also to reflect upon the levels of 'normality' and acceptance ... that thin line between what will be tolerated and what simply will not. More recently my artwork has moved to a more personal issue, looking at my aging father and his journey through Aged Care and declining health.
Most of the images presented show 'Poker Machine Money Boxes' in various guises, from an on-going series titled ; 'Chancey Games', looking into the world of Gaming and Gambling in Australian Society. But I have also included samples of Drawn illustration / Calligraphy and Model making.
