Resident Artist - Heather Kepski
Heather Kepski
My art, which is naturally a reflection of and on my life experiences, has been heavily influenced by my work as a cross cultural psychologist and my travels, particularly in Asia. Allusions to history, culture and spirituality can be found in most images. I use cross cultural images which are layered and intended to explore stereotypical concepts.
I specialise in printmaking, painting & drawing in mixed media. I am a member of the Bundeena/Maianbar Art Trail and more images can be found at www.arttrail.com.au.
I have won a number of awards including first prize for drawing at the 2007 Royal Easter Show, 2009 Nortec Encouragement Award for printmaking, a finalist in the 2008 Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize and the inaugural Graduate Printmaking Prize, Port Jackson Press. I graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts from Meadowbank TAFE with a Distinction in printmaking, winning a Newington Armory Residency at Sydney Olympic Park in 2008.
